Some 500 m impressions! Wataru Morishige. There's a lot of things I could say about the guy but I'm absolutely lovin him. Watching him last season was like a breath of fresh air, and this season it's just amplified. He's got a beautiful technique, hopefully his performance is not confined by the conditions of the Asian ovals and he will continue to stand strong once the season moves on to North America and Europe Already said it in the previous post, but for the goof of the day: Dubreuil casually interrupting the Pan-Asian Sprint Games be like... A very strong recovery after mediocre 35.06 Yuma Murakami battles inner (demons) lane and makes it to the podium with the exact same time as yesterday -- 34.82. Interesting what a man could do if not for that corner exit. Tingyu Gao ascending to Division A and immediately skating a 34er on that slow ice. Would be more than enough for the win in Division B where, with his departure, Håvard Lorentzen took the win with 35.20. Would've been a nice addition to the podium, but Dubreuil said enough is enough A disappointing weekend for Tatsuya Shinhama. First the Friday flop, and now a less than impressive lap of 25.7. I really, really like him, and really hope for redemption in the races to come. Merijn Scheperkamp drops from 35.00 to 35.25, and is now the highest ranking European/Dutchman in the WC standings, currently #7, behind all the Japanese, the Korean Kim and Mr. Dubreuil. Kim: pretty consistent, but with Gao now in Division A and the Japanese boys it should have been clear to him that skating a 35'er will no longer do it for the podium. Honorable mention: Nil Llop, improving his Friday result from 35.39 to 35.30! Good for him! Another honorable mention for David Bosa just because I'm into Italians. Just hoping to see more of him in the later stages. And now I'm gonna immerse myself into my 5k, my beloved ♥
Bart Swings is and will always be an amazing inliner. Including when he's on ice. in all these years he is yet to figure out how the clap skate works and how to utilize its advantages
Goed hoor Roest.
wow. just wow. Now that was just beautiful. A flat race of 29.4's and 29.2's. i loved it. also, pairing SLP with Roest seemed like a great idea. It was obvious how seeing Roest before him made him keep that pace going. A very consistent and beautiful race of its own. A podium, maybe?..
5k is pure art. ah. Ghiotto my man, a beautiful race. Roest is just too strong on those last laps, but he's getting there. Also according to the Norwegians Eitrem is apparently sick! and still a solid race in Ghiotto's immediate shadow.
