Hello, what did you think is the best blade for natural ice like the weissensee? Many greetings from Austria

Most blades are suited for use on the Weissensee. There are people who say that you need a little more flexible blades. That won't be necessary. What is important is that you take care that in the front your blade needs to be adjusted so it will get you out of some cracks.

I do not agree with this. I would not use my sprint-blades on natural ice. They are to high and to hard, so they break easily. Any blade harder than 64rc is not suitable for use on natural ice (no sprint-blade is softer). Anything less than 64rc should be fine.

I also like a smaller radius on natural ice. And like you said, a steeper front-part of the blade to get out of the cracks more easy. I would also not make these adjustments to my sprint-blades every time i ride on natural ice. That's why i have a separate set of blades just for natural ice.

Hej Lorinzi, I think it depends on what you want to do on the Weissensee. Are you a racer, going for victory or you're gonna tour around? Either way, a sharpened blade is always best to have.... ;)

    Cheers.
